WebEngineering, a Paris-based startup specialized in engineering recruitment services, has chosen to gradually relocate its headquarters and R&D division to Bordeaux. The company plans to create 50 to 100 jobs over the next three years.
The startup specializes in artificial intelligence dedicated to recruiting engineers.
Founded in Paris in 2013, in just two years WebEngineering has established itself as the leading engineering recruitment agency in France with over 7,000 new engineers registering on its platform every month.
WebEngineering develops digital solutions and artificial intelligence in order to facilitate the recruitment of engineers.
The startup describes itself as a “one stop shop for hiring engineers.”
It offers three types of services:
- an employment website (job posting, access to CV library)
- a recruitment agency (success-fee based)
- an engineering consulting firm (position of service provider)
Partial relocation to Bordeaux
With the mass exodus of young Parisian alumni (aged 30-40) of prestigious schools and universities to Bordeaux, the city represents a talent pool and rich source of expertise for developing WebEngineering.
Office rental costs and quality of life were also key factors in this decision. Starting in March the young company will move into the Mamaworks coworking space in the Bassins à Flot district.
WebEngineering will relocate a portion of its Paris-based team to Bordeaux (sales representatives, web developers, data scientist, product manager, support positions (marketing/communications)) and has set a goal of employing a staff of 50 to 100 in 3 years.
The company is seeking: web developers, data scientists, product managers, product owners, communication/marketing, business managers.
Invest in Bordeaux has supported the employees in their relocation to Bordeaux (choice of housing, schools, employment opportunities for their partners, discovering the city etc.) and has assisted with local recruitment.
“The Invest in Bordeaux agency also helped streamline our establishment in Bordeaux by putting us in contact with important players in the Bordeaux ecosystem,” says Alexandre Roy, CEO of the company.
