The Bordeaux campus dedicated to aeronautical professions is the only project of its kind in France and is based on a collaboration between the Alfred Kastler high school, the ENSAM (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art’ Métiers) and the Aquitaine Regional Council.
With an investment of 10 million euros* the plan is to develop, on a single shared site, a technological platform of excellence in the domain of aerospace construction processes (machining, forming, metalworking and assembly).
On this site, college students, apprentices and engineering students will receive training and will mingle with researchers and industrialists present for their specific needs.
The renovated building will open at the end of 2016 and will accommodate 10,000 m² of workshops, also allowing research to be carried out with the Institut d’Ingénierie and Mécanique de Bordeaux, among others.
The campus will be provided further investment of 3.5 million euros in order to be equipped with numerically control machines.
This operation is an innovative way of establishing continuity in occupational training courses in order to offer young people the opportunity to follow a study program in line with industrial needs.
