Created in Nantes, the young financial engineering company Benoolend has chosen to set up in Bordeaux, attracted by the Darwin Camp, an incubator for projects relating to sustainable development and innovation.
It proposes alternative financing solutions for projects providing access to renewable energy sources in developing countries, and especially in Africa.
With its 3 partners and 2 renewable energy consultants, Benoolend (trade name) is both a crowdfunding platform for access to energy and a fund investing in rural electricity supply projects.
The quality and range of academic research in IT and social sciences in Bordeaux proved decisive by enabling research and development activities in predictive social impact analysis to be put in place.
Finally, the dynamic economic fabric and FrenchTech status of Bordeaux enabled Benoolend to find its place in a fast-changing environment.
Bubacar Diallo: “Invest in Bordeaux provided its knowledge of the regional ecosystem and put Benoolend in touch with BPI France, among others.”
