The companies of the aeronautics industry in Bordeaux and Aquitaine, the spearhead of the regional economy, will once again be present at the International Aerospace Show to present their technological innovations.
For the promotion of their aeronautics industry, the Aquitaine and Midi-Pyrénées regions, with 140 companies (60 of which are in Aquitaine) will be exhibiting under the banner of “Aerospace Valley” on a joint stand of 1,450 m² (Hall 4 / B168 ) from June 15 to 21, 2015 at the Bourget Air Show.
It is worth remembering that some 700 Aquitaine companies make up the ASD ‘Aeronautics-Space-Defence industry’, totaling 59,000 jobs, of which 38,000 are industrial. The majority of its turnover (60% with 4 billion euros) comes from exports.
Commercial success stories with the sale of the Rafale, a record backlog of orders, the increased capacity of constructors, the continuation of industrial investments, recruiting of personnel and the increase in air traffic are all factors which promise a bumper year and evidence full confidence in the future for regional companies.
The International Le Bourget Air show will also be the opportunity for Aerospace Valley to celebrate its 10th anniversary and the financing of 381 joint research projects (totaling 1 billion euros, with 420 million euros in public financing).
It will also provide the Aquitaine Region with the opportunity to display its ambitions and its support for the growth of the industry, both with the subcontractors of Dassault and with the training of personnel at the Aerocampus Aquitaine or through the support given to new industrial investments.
