The Bordeaux start-up company Sunna Design, specialising in the design of autonomous solar street lights and whose founder Thomas Samuel received a prize last April for innovation in the solidarity economy from the prestigious MIT Technology Review, is steering SystemSol’s collaborative R&D programme.
The market for autonomous solar lighting systems has a promising future with revenue estimates for 2020 amounting to several billion euros.
The aim of the SystemSol programme is to develop equipment dedicated to the industrialisation and production of these autonomous lighting systems.
SystemSol could create hundreds of jobs by 2020 in Gironde.
