To cope with the influx of travellers as a result of the arrival of the high-speed line between Tours and Bordeaux in 2017, the renovation project at the Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station is doubling as an extension of the Belcier side to strengthen its national and European stature.
This major development is located at the heart of the Bordeaux-Euratlantique Operation of National Interest, the future business district with a European vocation.
On the programme: 38 months of work
Renovation of the main hall, a new forecourt, esplanade with outdoor cafés, short-stay only parking, multi-level car park with 850 spaces and a bike park for 350 bikes.
Annual traffic at the Saint-Jean station is expected to increase from the current 11 million passengers to 20 million after the LGV is put into operation, with more than 95,000 travellers expected on peak days.
