Established in Bordeaux in 2016, BayWa r.e Solar Systems SAS (subsidiary of German company BayWa r.e.,) has already entered its 2nd development phase.
The renewable energy and in particular solar specialist has opened a new office in Bordeaux and is planning to create around 15 jobs within 3 years.
A growing market for photovoltaic installations in France
A wholly-owned subsidiary of BayWa AG, BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH is now the leader in distribution of photovoltaic equipment in Europe.
It has business units that are active in the solar, wind, bioenergy and geothermal energy sectors.
BayWa r.e. is headquartered in Munich and has more than 1,000 employees and €1 billion turnover.
BayWa r.e. is a service and consulting company that covers a wide range of activities, from project development to the monitoring and maintenance of photovoltaic facilities.
It also offers company support for installing self-consumption photovoltaic systems (without electricity resale and with the aim of reducing electricity bills).
With solar energy being supported by the State and the opening of an unsubsidized market thanks to self-consumption, BayWa r.e. hopes to develop solar activity in France while boosting its presence in Bordeaux.
Nouvelle Aquitaine’s dynamic photovoltaic sector
Nouvelle Aquitaine is the most active region in France in photovoltaic development. As the national market extends mainly from the north-west to the south-east via the south-west, Bordeaux is situated at a strategical and logistical crossroads from which to meet the needs of BayWa r.e.’s clients.
The 2016 opening of a sales office in Bordeaux with 2 salespeople will be followed in summer 2017 by an equipment storage and delivery facility, requiring a move into new premises in the east of the Bordeaux area, that will be more suitable for the new logistics operation.
The objective is to recruit around 15 employees within 3 years, particularly for positions in sales and in technical and support functions.
