Med Trust, the family-run Austrian firm specialised in medical equipment and wellness products for diabetes patients, has chosen Bordeaux to launch its French subsidiary.
Med Trust, the diabetes care specialist
Founded in 1997 near Vienna, Austria, Med Trust (250 employees and turnover of €60 million) manufactures and sells meters and strips mainly to monitor blood glucose, but also for ketonemia and cholesterol.
The company also sells
insulin pen needles, lancets and safety lancets, blood pressure monitors and
many other products which have been developed to meet the needs of diabetic
patients.
The French Headquarters in Canéjan (Gironde)
Med Trust, through its own subsidiary, currently operates in 13 European countries and sells its products in numerous other countries through partner dealerships.
Med Trust launched its French subsidiary in early 2019 and opted to locate in Canéjan.
The company chose Bordeaux Métropole for its economic vibrancy, particularly in terms of business creation, for its strong scientific and medical activity and for the quality of life.
The presence of an internationally renowned university of medical science and a local ecosystem conducive to the development of medical equipment businesses were also decisive factors.
The development of Med Trust in Gironde and Nouvelle-Aquitaine will take shape through the gradual recruitment of administrative staff for the headquarters and sales staff to present the products to be launched in France to the Diabetology and Pharmaceutical departments of hospitals.
From the outset, Invest in Bordeaux has assisted Med Trust in its location here, with company registration, the identification of professional partners, the search for premises and the posting of the first job vacancies on its Job in Bordeaux platform.
‘Our collaboration with Invest in Bordeaux is one of the reasons behind our decision to locate our headquarters and French launch base in the capital of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region’ says Cécile Bombail, Manager and Chief Executive of Med Trust France.
