LIM Group plans to recruit around twenty people over 3 years and hopes to benefit from the HR/mobility support offered by Invest in Bordeaux, which is assisting the company in its first location to the Bordeaux city area.
Historically based in Nontron, Dordogne, the upmarket saddler LIM Group is locating its International Hub near the Hippodrome du Bouscat and is investing €3m in new premises devoted entirely to the world of horses. The hub will be operational as of June 2020.
From Decisional Headquarters to R&D
The LIM (Leather in Motion) Group’s new site is intended to accommodate a part of its support teams, which have outgrown their current premises in Rue Judaïque. This includes the R&D, HR, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Communication and Sales Support departments, in addition to a part of the management team. Some twenty recruitments are planned over 3 years for this hub which will employ 50 staff in premises of 1200m².
Currently present on 20 sites around the world through 22 subsidiaries, the aim is to facilitate the Group’s growth from Bordeaux.
These premises, due to open in June 2020, will be designed to facilitate collaboration between teams and contribute to employees’ well-being. A large number of employees are also passionate about the equestrian world or horse-owners themselves and will benefit from a site devoted to horses in the heart of the city, with a unique concept of active stables (6 to 7 horses) for research purposes.
The R&D team will focus on the development of the brand’s future connected products. Firmly committed to the environment and ecological issues, the building project for the new premises is designed to have a low carbon footprint.
Bordeaux: ‘The star city’ for LIM Group
The decision to locate to Bordeaux is linked above all to its geographical position. Bordeaux lies at equal distances from Nontron/Saint Estèphe (Dordogne) and Bidart (Pyrénées Atlantiques), the company’s two main operation and production units.
‘The Bordeaux project was born of an extraordinary opportunity to fully design new offices conducive to the development of the Group and the well-being of staff, in addition to being located in the heart of the hippodrome, which is obviously highly relevant to our business’, says Laurent Duray, founder and CEO.
The hippodrome is also easy to get to with its ideally central location 10 minutes from the airport, 3 minutes from the ring-road and next to the future terminus of tram line D.
