As the 4th edition of it3D Summit draws to a close, Bordeaux-based Immersion has confirmed its position as a European leader in virtual reality and augmented reality.
Expertise, pragmatism and BtoB
Over 2 days, the best of the virtual reality and digital transformation sectors gathered in Bordeaux. Now a must for industrial stakeholders and experts in the field, with nearly 300 participants this year, the it3D Summit has been committed to dialogue from the start. Two days were dedicated to the latest developments in the field and sharing the potential of this innovative technology with the largest possible audience. Gilles Babinet, Thierry Pedeloup and Doug Wolff (EPIC Games) attended the event. They drew on their experience to provide industrial stakeholders with some answers to their concerns, which were of course technical, but did not neglect the human aspect.
Immersion, a gem inspired by its creator
Creator of 3D experiences: that is Immersion’s mantra. The company was created in 1994 by Christophe Chartier, who saw the technology’s amazing potential when it was still in its infancy. The company, which proudly boasts of its roots in Bordeaux and its region, now has 50 staff members, markets virtual reality products and collaborative solutions and participates in national and European research projects, and designs and markets customized and integrated immersive 3D solutions. Immersion also offers its own range of products, like Diiice, an immersive environment, and Shariiing, a collaborative solution for interactive presentations and collaborative meetings.
After Europe, the world!
Immersion’s reality is now international, including in Asia. Immersion has already demonstrated its attraction for the ASEAN region. It already has several partners there and does not intend to stop now.
The company’s strategy also involves working with major accounts. For example, in 2017, the Bordeaux-based company was selected by Microsoft to deploy its mixed reality expertise with HoloLens.
The Wonder by Immersion
The secret to Immersion’s success lies in its founder’s core belief: “Who cares about technology!” He believes in putting people at the center of all concerns and forms of technology. “An environment in which humans are at the heart of the decisions, in which collective and emotional intelligence is valued.” Their latest video, “The Wonder by Immersion ” says it all.
