The most powerful photovoltaic facility in Europe in being built on 300 hectares in Cestas, to the west of Bordeaux, at a cost of €360 million, with total power of 300 MWc.
This photovoltaic farm, consisting of 25 stations, will generate the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of the population of Bordeaux.
Neoen, headquartered in Paris, will own six stations with a production of 72 MW, as well as minority shares in other stations, for a total of 120 MW. This company uses tracker technology, ensuring that the panels follow the path of the sun, developed by the Bordeaux company Exosun.
Eight other investors, including Swiss electricity producer KKB and asset management funds MIROVA, ACOFI and OMNES CAPITAL, will be partners in the project.
The consortium formed by Clemessy (Eiffage group), Schneider Electric and Krinner will perform the construction and maintenance of this new electricity production centre.
