Already in the Bordeaux agglomeration for more than 25 years, Valmet is opening its new Bordeaux offices in Le Haillan, and expanding its automation business.
This modernized site with superior capacity will enable the Finnish group to respond to the constant growth of Valmet’s European business.
Constant growth in business since 1989
The world leader, Valmet develops and provides services, automation solutions and technology for the pulp, paper, and energy sectors, and other process industries such as the maritime or agro-food industries.
Valmet’s automation business came to France in 1985 and Bordeaux in 1989.
Valmet’s Bordeaux site has thrived ever since and enjoyed great success both in France and abroad.
Since 1989 it has been the head office of the group’s Southern Europe and Africa Automation business, and centralizes its Management, Sales, Services, Projects, Marketing and Administration teams.
The site also plays host to staff from the group’s other business activities, specialized in pulp, paper, and energy, in order to strengthen synergies between the group’s business lines. There are roughly fifty people currently at the Bordeaux Le Haillan site.
A renovated site reflecting the group’s corporate culture
Originally constructed in 1992 to meet the needs of Valmet, the Bordeaux Le Haillan site is unique for its single-story design around a central patio.
The renovation project draws on Valmet’s fundamental values such as openness and communication, and adds environmental awareness and security, as well as new, more nomadic work methods and new communication modes which are more informal and connected.
For the local team, this renovated site is a strong sign of confidence in the future and the development of the business.
