The company’s aim is to become one of the key regional players in technical engineering and is hoping to double the number of Gironde staff within 3 years, thus creating around 50 new jobs.
A subsidiary of CERAP Prévention, Advance Engineering, the technical support and project management/contracting assistance specialist, principally in the energy sector, is boosting its presence in the Bordeaux area.
A presence linked to the nuclear power sector.
Founded in 2007, the south-west agency of CERAP, based inCenon, became Advance Engineering in 2012, a subsidiary of the CERAP Prévention group, a company specialised in hygiene, safety and radiation protection since 1988 and French leader in this sector.
The company’s activities are geared towards its historical customers, such as EDF, the Blaye nuclear power plant (CNPE) and all nuclear plants in France; nuclear research facilities (CEAs) and more particularly the CESTA site in Le Barp, Gironde with its Mega Joule Laser facility, in addition to major stakeholders in the nuclear field such as ORANO, FRAMATOME, ENGIE and BOUYGUES.
A doubling of staff and diversification into aeronautics
The decisive factors for development in Bordeaux are linked to its strategic position in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine nuclear field, with, in particular, competitiveness clusters such as Alpha Route des Lasers or Aerospace Valley. The presence of major customers in the fields of nuclear power, research, military applications and aeronautics also influenced the decision to locate in Bordeaux.
The company also appreciates the attractiveness of Bordeaux and its accessibility (via road, rail and air).
In order to become one of the key players in technical engineering in the region, Advance will provide its renowned expertise in demanding industrial sectors (nuclear, applications and the military, etc.) to new customers, notably in aeronautics.
Around 130 people are currently employed at the Bordeaux premises of ADVANCE Engineering.
Its aim is to double this number within 3 years.
