It is in Bordeaux that Parisian Digital Services Company Ekino has decided to set up shop in the next stage of its development. Attracted by the digital ecosystem in Bordeaux, it is opening its second agency in France to develop ambitious projects that will create a large number of jobs.
Ekino is specialised in open source, web development, mobile applications and cloud management. The company has 200 employees and is part of the FullSix Group. It works for a number of key accounts (Renault, Canal+, Digiposte, Chanel, etc.).
A top-level team for innovative projects
Ekino has ambitious objectives for its new agency:
- To create a centre of digital expertise, built around architects, developers and consultants
- To develop its business in the Aquitaine region
- To play its part in developing the digital ecosystem in Aquitaine
- To contribute to the company’s strong growth in France and abroad.
The identity and values of Ekino will be central to the organisation of the Bordeaux agency: innovative projects, top-quality execution, creativeness, knowledge sharing and staff development.
A recruitment drive underway
On the strength of 8 years of experience at Ekino, current Paris agency director Sébastien Collery will be heading the Bordeaux agency and driving the Group’s ambitions.
Ekino is planning to set up in the Cité Numérique. It will be starting out with 5 employees in a co-working space and is looking to boost that number to 50 people within 3 years. Java and HTML developers, open source engineers – a number of positions are already available on the Ekino website.
It was the dynamism of the digital sector in Aquitaine that convinced Ekino to create its second centre of expertise here.
Bordeaux was in competition with Nantes and Lyon, but edged them out thanks to its dedicated facilities tailored to the needs of companies in the sector, such as the Cité du Numérique due to open in 2017, and an ideal work environment for the creation of the new agency.
The arrival of high-speed train services in 2017 also proved to be a decisive factor.
High-quality local training, a dynamic digital ecosystem and the large number of events organised over the year are all additional advantages that should help Ekino to grow quickly here.
Agency Director Sébastien Collery: “I am hoping to draw on the dynamics of the digital sector in Bordeaux to develop our new agency. Our objective is to become an integral part of the Aquitaine digital ecosystem and contribute to its growth. I will also by paying close attention to ensuring that our Bordeaux team progresses and grows in an attractive working environment.”
Yann Doussot, Ekino CEO: “The strength and dynamism of the digital sector in Bordeaux made the city an obvious choice for the development of Ekino. Top-level skills and a good working environment are two values that are central to our business model and the Aquitaine region certainly provides both.”
