With the same commitment which has ensured its success in Paris since 2016 and Lyon in recent months, HelloZack is expanding its courier and in-store depot activity to Bordeaux, providing consumers and professionals with an express service to sell their Apple products for re-use.
The service has been operational in Bordeaux since December.
Around ten jobs are to be created within the next 3 years.
Their ambition is to boost the circular economy
The aim of the start-up is to gradually promote the circular economy in order to reduce waste and offset planned obsolescence.
HelloZack buys back Apple products (iPhone, MacBook, iPad, iMac and Apple Watch). In just a few clicks, the seller receives an online quote, a repurchase offer directly by email and three free options to deposit the items for sale (courier available within 20 minutes, in-store depot or pre-paid, insured postal delivery). Once the product has been deposited, it is checked by the Apple experts which are the core strength of HelloZack, and the transaction is completed in the same day.
Thanks to an algorithm developed by HelloZack, the products are valued directly in line with the market and refurbished for sale at the fairest price. The ‘Apples’ are then simultaneously posted for sale on several retail sites such as Amazon, BackMarket and Ebay.
HelloZack has seen constant growth since its launch in 2016 and finalised a 2nd raising of funds in September 2018 to the amount of €1.2M, enabling the opening of a branch in Lyon last November.
The Parisian team currently consists of seventeen people.
The Bordeaux hub is now open!
Based on the initial model of their Parisian and Lyon hubs, the Bordeaux team is located at the Meetropolitan co-working space (31 Allée de Chartres).
Manager Vincent Touche is planning to develop regional business until mid-2019 and subsequently focus on international expansion (in particular in London, Milan and Berlin).
To meet these targets, he is building a team of five talents; a head of operations, two technical-sales reps and two engineers.
HelloZack is thus planning to create between 5 and 15 new jobs in the next three years to cover the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
Hellozack is hoping to benefit from the local growth in the digital sector to break into the regional market.
‘The renown of numerous companies here convinced us that locating to Bordeaux was essential.
BackMarket, Cdiscount, Betclic, Ubisoft, OVH, Niji, Deezer, UX Republic, Oxatis, Concerto, ManoMano and Hermès, for example, made the same move’, Vincent Touche explains.
The company benefited from the services of Invest in Bordeaux, which assists companies wishing to locate permanently in the Bordeaux area.
