This new location aims to take advantage of the vibrant digital ecosystem of the city and its main economic stakeholders.
A team dedicated to innovation will move into these new premises with a capacity of around forty employees.
The streaming service is delighted to contribute to the region’s ecosystem and new digital vitality through this decision.
The office will open in the coming weeks with an initial team of around ten people. Following this, Deezer is to rapidly recruit some forty staff locally.
Deezer called on Romain Lods, Head of Engineering – Tooling (with the company since January 2016), to coordinate the Bordeaux office.
His task consists in steering the development of solutions to respond to the specific needs and issues of the streaming service. His team also participates in leading and developing internal and external technical communities.
Alain Juppé, Mayor of Bordeaux, commented
‘The choice made by this emblematic company is a new acknowledgement of our attractiveness, a strong gesture which will further boost a buoyant dynamic.’
Alexis de Gemini, Managing Director of Deezer France, added
‘Bordeaux and Nantes were our favourite locations.
I’m delighted that Deezer is opening an office dedicated to new technologies in Bordeaux. I’m counting on the vibrant digital ecosystem of the city and its region to enable us to innovate and recruit the talents that will help us develop the excellence of our service.’
Matthieu Gorvan, Chief Technology Officer, concluded by saying
‘Thanks to this new location, we will also benefit from regional know-how and thus pool our expertise. This is also the opportunity for Deezer to boost staff loyalty by offering them a new working environment.’
