The Aquitaine Robotics Cluster has expanded, with the addition of a training center for professionals in industrial robotics at Bordeaux Technowest.
Targeted training courses for cutting-edge technologies
CRTI Robotics, a branch of the company CRTI in Le Mans, wishes to expand throughout the south-west of France from Bordeaux, getting closer to their industrial clients, especially in the aeronautic and automobile sectors, such as Ford in Blanquefort or Turbomeca in the south of the region.
CRTI-Robotics’ activities involve training employees, technicians, engineers and developers in programming and maintenance of industrial robots from the main manufacturers (ABB, KUKA, Fanuc, etc.).
CRTI also works in machine vision, providing tailored intra-company training courses.
The team at CRTI ROBOTICS is made up of experienced consultants who are trained by robot manufacturers worldwide, and in the use of machine vision systems. CRTI ROBOTICS has several training robots and machine vision systems available to be used by clients on their own premises.
Since July, the training center has temporarily been set up at the Bordeaux Technopole premises in Mérignac, with 4 to 5 new jobs created.
The site’s location close to the airport is an additional advantage for CRTI Robotics’ international development.
Invest in Bordeaux assisted the company in looking for premises, in particular by putting them in contact with the Aquitaine Robotics Cluster.
CRTI-ROBOTICS is a member of the cluster and a partner of the INRIA (French Institute for Research in Computer Science and Automation) in Bordeaux.
A trump card: The Aquitaine Robotics Cluster
The Aquitaine Robotics Cluster structures the region’s robotics sector, assists with collaborative R&D projects, and builds on scientific research and educational skills in 3 market sectors:
- Robotics for manufacturing and logistics
- Robotics in the open domain
- Robotics for personal service
The goal is to promote the Nouvelle Aquitaine region as a major player in robotics in France and in Europe, particularly in the fields of robots-human interaction and cobotics.
