10 million euros will be invested in the Bordeaux campus to install the Institut de Recherche Technologique Antoine de Saint-Exupéry launched in Toulouse in 2013.
This centre of excellence in the field of future materials brings together partners to develop global technological research activities in three areas: electric aircraft, in-vehicle systems and multifunctional, high-performance materials.
Aquitaine is making its contribution, with teams specialised in ceramic-matrix composite materials and innovative assembly techniques. Renovation work on the building, situated on the Campus Arts et Métiers Paris Tech de Bordeaux, will be completed in March 2016.
In total, the IRT will involve 250 people between now and 2016, 50 of them in Bordeaux.
