Twenty-three bottles of Bordeaux wine are sold every second across the world. Of which 42% abroad and 58% in France.
The Bordeaux wine industry represents revenue of 4.3 billion euros and 65,000 direct and indirect jobs.
In order to maintain this position as world leader, Bordeaux stakeholders have invested heavily in new technologies stemming from the Inno’vin cluster, starting with digital technologies.
“Wine Startups”, a network of 13 bright buds offering wine-related digital services, was thus launched last June, in an attempt to structure the industry.
As the driving forces behind this still-digitally-emerging industry, the CIVB and the Aquitaine region launched a social media and smartphone game, “Château academy”, last September.
