Summer is here in Bordeaux, and local business news is as rich as ever: overview.
The Bordeaux-based company Jobijoba, specialized in job searching and nicknamed the “Google of job-hunting”, has achieved 50% growth for the last 2 years.
Besides continuous international development, the company regularly offers innovative products and services to job seekers.
In April, Jobijoba launched the “virtual job consultant” and this week, together with the town of Pessac, it celebrated its first partnership with a local community.
The aim is to “geolocate” the offers on Jobijoba from the website of the partner community: the inhabitants of Pessac can access, via their own town’s website, the services of Jobijoba along with its 10,000 job offers within a 20km radius.
I2S, a global leader in heritage digitization tools listed on the stock exchange, has announced a refocusing of its activities towards high-end products and its core business: that of providing images.
The company’s recently-launched “E-Scan Open system” scanner holds the answer: sold as a kit and fully adjustable, clients can configure it themselves online, order it via the website and have it delivered directly by the company.
But the dynamic world of Bordeaux start-ups doesn’t stop there:
Loisirs-enchères, founded in the summer of 2014, whose eponymous website auctions cultural services and leisure activities, has been quick to show significant growth.
It is expecting a 2.4 million turnover this year and is forecasting 25 new job openings by 2017.
The site SwitchAround, started up at the end of 2014, enables students to find accommodation and to find tenants for when their apartments are empty.
It is safe to say that Bordeaux folk are clearly not lacking inspiration: the latest innovation is “Dream Holiday”, a tour operator specialized in breaks for singles only.
The first hotel welcoming single guests exclusively opened in Greece and others are set to follow: Croatia in 2016, Dominican Republic in 2016/2017 and Thailand in 2017/2018.
