Bordeaux officially became one of the world’s cities for food lovers in 2014.
It is the 20th city to join the international “Délice” network. Its members have two things in common, as established in 2007: culinary expertise and a reputation for fine cuisine.
Délice is a world network which brings together fine dining cities. Amongst its 20 members there are many European cities such as Turin, Madrid, and Brussels, as well as others outside Europe, such as Montreal, Osaka, and even Rabat.
Their main goal: to share best practice in terms of gastronomy, considered by its members to be a major factor in the future of cities and the attractiveness of territories.
By including Bordeaux, Délice joins forces with world’s wine capital.
Bordeaux is also the second French city after Lyon, the founder city, to join the network. As the ambassador for gastronomy in south-west France, Bordeaux was also behind the Great Wine Capitals Global Network.
