On 14 & 15 October 2015 Bordeaux hosted UGS 2015 – Unmanned Global Systems – the biggest European symposium for all drones and robots – air, land, sea – and 2nd biggest in the world after the USA.
This BtoB meeting brings together experts, SMEs and large groups and will allow stakeholders to take stock of the challenges and innovations of all forms of drones, structured around a fast-growing market.
An international symposium for autonomous systems
Following the two editions of the UAV Show business convention on civil drones, the new Bordeaux business event, UGS, welcomed the whole field of autonomous systems, including flight drones as well as land, sea and submarine drones, both civil and military.
Thanks to a partnership with Eurosatory, an international show on defense, UGS has taken on a new dimension and should move to Paris in 2016.
Bordeaux’s standing
In the international drone market, currently estimated to be worth €6 bn and which should double by 2025, Bordeaux and Aquitaine are ranked fourth in France, and are leaders in precision agriculture technology.
The drone sector is developing around the AETOS cluster, with small entities emerging alongside the large groups such as Dassault, Thales and Herakles.
Companies like Fly-n-sense, Air et Drone and Xamen are able to design entire systems thanks to an attractive ecosystem and strong regional movement.
Cesa, based in Bordeaux, is a unique center in France dedicated to flight testing of civil drones and the development of autonomous systems.
