Convinced by the potential of Bordeaux start-ups, Nicolas Béraud, an entrepreneur and big fan of sports and games, wants to make Bordeaux a European digital capital.
Today the digital sector accounts for some 7000 companies and 23,000 jobs. France’s leading region in terms of growth in employment in digital technologies, the aim is to reach 50,000 jobs between now and 2030.
The founder of Betclic in London (headcount of 1000, €350 million turnover), in 2013 Nicolas Béraud set up his new start-up in Bordeaux, Triple Fun, specializing in mobile video games.
After higher education at the Bordeaux campus of Enseirb (electronics, IT, telecommunications, mathematics and mechanics university) he has enjoyed great success in achieving his ambition of becoming the French leader in multiplayer games for mobiles.
With ten employees already, Triple Fun has just released its 3rd “Microgolf” game, free on Android and Apple phones, before launching a sport predictions game in September.
His credo: “We have as many assets in this sector as London; we simply need to be more ambitious”.
It is true that Bordeaux is already the 3rd agglomeration in France for video games.
