What are the high points which will leave their mark on #Bordeaux life in 2015 in the festive, economic and cultural fields?
Some already promise to be of major importance, in particular in the fields of sport and celebration.
If the city of Bordeaux applied to be awarded the label of European City of Sport in 2015, it is because it had some cards up its sleeve!
- The 1st Bordeaux marathon on 18 April which will be run at night, a first for France,
- The fête du fleuve and the start of the prestigious Solitaire du Figaro race from the 22nd to the 30th of May,
- The first match at the new stadium of the Girondins de Bordeaux football team on the 23rd of May then the hosting of the Top 14 de rugby semi-finals.
2015 will also see progress in some major projects.
The Métropole tramway network will continue to be extended with, at the beginning of the year, the rolling out of several sections which will extend the existing lines.
With regard to the railways, the works begun in 2014 in the gare Saint-Jean will be continued and even stepped up, in particular with the renovation of the main hall and the construction of the new building on the Belcier side.
The Cité des Civilisations du Vin, an emblematic building in north Bordeaux which will not be opened until 2016, will soon assume its final appearance.
Finally new districts are emerging: the Ginko programme, the Bassins à flot as well as the Euratlantique project around the station….
The Bordeaux landscape will look decidedly different by the end of the year.
