From wine barrels to the interior fittings of luxury aircraft , Catherineau, the Bordeaux SME, has been successfully diversifying and innovating for over 260 years.
Located in a vast factory since 2012, the Catherineau company has stayed faithful to the banks of the Garonne since its creation in 1750 when it used to produce wine barrels and cart wheels.
The #Bordeaux-based company has been able to use its expertise in working with wood and materials to move on to other more promising activities: making models for foundries, boat construction and the move to the interior design of upmarket aircraft in the 60s.
Now Catherineau employs almost 100 people working in twenty different trades (carpenters, upholsterers, cabinet makers, engineers, etc.) with an annual turnover of €9.6 million in 2013.
Since the start of the 60s, more than 2,000 business aircraft and helicopters have been fitted for companies such as Dassault, Airbus and Sabena Technics and also directly for heads of state and senior dignitaries.
