The Bordeaux aeronautics contract manufacturer Alema Automation is booming and, having outgrown its current premises, has built a new factory.
Specialising in automation solutions for drilling/riveting of aircraft parts, Alema Automation, created in 1979, has big names in aviation as clients: Airbus, Embraer, Bombardier and more recently Boeing.
Since 2010, its turnover and workforce have almost doubled. This strong growth was reinforced by the arrival of a new German shareholder, Kuka, which opened up the American market for Alema Automation, helping it to grow.
The new factory, currently under construction in Le Haillan in the suburbs of Bordeaux, will cover more than 2,000 square metres and will be adapted to the new demands of Alema’s prestigious clients, including large robotic equipment adapted to new generations of aircraft which are much larger.
