Dagoma, a company specializing in the design, manufacture and marketing of 3D printers for the general public, is stepping up its development and setting up in Pessac on the Europarc site. The start-up recently raised €3 million to develop its R&D projects and open its Bordeaux center.
The first Dago’Center
Dagoma Bordeaux is the first plant based outside the head office in Roubaix! In a real test for growth strategy, this Dago’Center will develop the same activities as in the north, with an added extra!
This first Dago’Center will effectively involve production activities around a “farm” consisting of two dozen machines, an additional client order collection point and a location for training and printing on demand.
Also and most importantly, a local technical service will be provided for existing and future clients and retailers.
In addition, this center provides a “Print Lab” for users wishing to discuss and share ideas on 3D printing, an original concept midway between a co-working space and a Fab Lab. It provides six workstations, “one shot” or via a subscription, in an open space with Wi-Fi, coffee and self-service fruit bar, dedicated access to a 3D printer (per station), in addition to preferential rates on accessories and consumables.
Development projects from Bordeaux
The start-up plans to recruit 2 or 3 people on the Pessac site in the near future and gradually double this number.
If growth targets are achieved, it is considering a move to larger premises within three years.
The choice of Bordeaux is strategic at a national level as it enables coverage of the southern part of the region, ahead of possible international expansion.
Bordeaux Site Manager Hervé Digeos underlines this:
“Bordeaux is primarily a strategic choice, taking into account its geographical location and the local economic fabric. Bordeaux was an obvious choice for us. And to top it all, I myself am originally from Bordeaux: the choice was obvious!”
Invest in Bordeaux supported Dagoma’s move by putting it in touch with local networks and helping in its search for property.
Hervé Digeos adds, “Invest in Bordeaux is still supporting us today by enabling us to reach its business community! ”
